Summary:

My side of the Mountain is about a young boy named Sam Gribley who runs away from his home in New York to go live in the wilderness, taking with him little more than a pen knife, some flint and a small amount of money. He plans to live at his great grandfather's old farm that is somewhere in the Catskill Mountains. Before Sam finds the farm, he lives in the wild for a year in an old, hollowed-out dead tree and makes some interesting animal friends. Sam must learn to live off the land and survive loneliness and the often brutal winter weather.

This book is very exiting and anyone who liked the books Hatchet or Brian's Winter will love My side of the Mountain . When you pick up this book you will not be able to put it down. Prepare to dive into a book full of adventure.
