Summary:

Twelve-year-old Jeffrey Lionel “Maniac” Magee has been an orphan even since he was a little boy, when his parents died in a trolley crash. For eight years, he spends his life with his strange Aunt Dot and Uncle Dan. Suddenly, deciding he has had enough, Maniac runs away from home. Through his travels, Maniac faces many challenges such as untying a giant knot, teaching an old man to read, sleeping with buffaloes, and most importantly, conquering racism. This heart-touching story about a boy trying to find himself and the unimportance of skin color will be a favorite to any bookshelf.

I give this book 4 ½ llamas because it is fun and exciting, but it is not very challenging
