Summary:

In an attempt to keep young David Balfour from gaining the family inheritance, David's greedy uncle has him kidnapped. Although held first as a prisoner aboard ship, David is eventually able to gain more freedom and work on the ship. Bound for the American Colonies, the ship is damaged at sea and David is stranded on a remote beach in southern Scotland . He soon learns his newly acquired friend, Alan Breck, is safe and somewhere on the island. Like a man on a mission, he starts his trek across Scotland in search of his friend. Follow David on his journey in this classic novel. I give this book five monkeys because it is a great adventure novel.
