Summary:

The Hobbit is about a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. A hobbit is basically a mini human. Bilbo Baggins lived a life of utter hobbit respectability in the Shire. That is, until one day the wizard Gandalf visited him and left a mysterious mark on his door. Bilbo went on with his life without a second thought. Another fine day, a dwarf arrives at Bilbo's door. Astounded, Bilbo invites the strange visitor in for refreshments. After settling down with a cup of tea and some seed cakes, his doorbell rings again. It's another dwarf at the door. This goes on until a total of thirteen dwarfs are inside Bilbo's home.

The next day Bilbo, the dwarves, and Gandalf embark on a life-altering journey across strange and deadly forests, mountains and plains to reach the Lonely Mountain , fabled home of the dwarves. The mountain is filled with treasure, but guarded by Smog, a treasure-loving, man, hobbit, and dwarf eating dragon. Across the way, they'll meet unique characters as dangerous as the land they inhabit. This book will grip you and won't let you go until the epic conclusion leagues away from the beginning.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
