Summary:

Mathias, a thirteen year old boy, is friends with Percy and Alia. They are “third” children in a country where only two children are allowed. The population police are after them and Percy and Alia are injured and Mathias leaves them in an abandoned cabin while he goes to get help. When he comes back, they are missing. A policeman finds Mathias and asks him what he is doing. In order to save his life, Mathias lies and says that he is interested in joining the population police. Will he be able to escape and foil a plan to kill all third children, or will he be killed in the process, or maybe both? Read the book to find out. I recommend it to all of you.
